Dr. Rodney G. Bullock
Dr. Rodney G. Bullock has been heavily involved in advocacy, public policy, and legislation. He served on the American Counseling Association’s (ACA) bylaws committee and as President of Governors State University (GSU) counseling chapter. He traveled to the nation’s capital with the ACA to lobby the U.S. Congress on behalf of the counseling field.
After graduating, Bullock served as Chair of the Illinois Counseling Association’s (ICA) Public Policy and Legislation Committee, a board member for the Coalition of Illinois Counselors Organizations (CICO), and the Illinois Mental Health Counselors Association (IMHCA). Dr. Bullock was a member of the inaugural class of the National Career Development Association (NCDA) Leadership Academy and is a past President of the Chicago Counseling Association (CCA).
Dr. Bullock is a professor of psychology and human services at Joliet Junior College where he teaches aspiring human services professionals with an emphasis on power, privilege, de-stigmatization, and systemic racism. He served as a faculty counselor for 15 years before moving to full-time teaching in 2019.
Dr. Bullock holds a Master of Arts degree in Counseling and a Master of Health Science degree in Addiction Studies from Governors State University. If he is not jogging or meditating, he is reflecting upon his more than 19 years of professional experience which includes being a National Board Certified Counselor (NBCC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and Distance Credentialed Counselor (DCC).
